FQHC

What is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC)?

A Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) is a care center that is community-based and patient-directed. FQHCs promote community health by providing healthcare services to EVERYONE and improving access to care for all, regardless of insurance status or ability to pay. These centers receive federal funding to deliver comprehensive, high-quality primary care to underserved areas or populations. FQHCs also offer a sliding fee scale based on income to ensure affordability for all patients.

La Esperanza Clinic provides equal access to quality healthcare to all persons, regardless of age, sex, color, ethnicity, national origin, or the ability to pay.

Who can be a patient of an FQHC?

Anyone can be a patient of an FQHC! These health centers provide care for individuals of all ages, income levels, and insurance statuses. Whether you have private insurance, Medicaid, Medicare, or no insurance at all, you are welcome. FQHCs are dedicated to ensuring that everyone in the community has access to the care they need.
